The Creation Club is a way for modders and internal staff to officially sell custom content on Bethesda’s digital marketplace, for Skyrim and Fallout 4. The main new addition are over 500 items from the Bethesda Creation Club. The Anniversary Edition will include everything in the Special Edition, all three DLC expansions as well as all the improvements and updates. The Anniversary Edition is described as a “next generation console upgrade,” which is also what gave us the 2016 Special Edition, which was itself a major graphical upgrade from the 2011 original, as well as unlocking modding for console players. The Anniversary Edition will be offered to owners of the Special Edition as a free upgrade on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, making it the third generation of consoles that Skyrim has invaded.
During this year’s QuakeCon event, Bethesda announced The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition, which will include everything in the Special Edition along with hundreds of free Creation Club items, launching on the seminal game’s 10 year anniversary, November 11, 2021, on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The three guarantees in life are death, taxes, and a new version of Skyrim.
